'Anando Brahma' satellite rights sold at record price

latestnews1947: Hyderabad, Aug 27: 'Anando Brahma' is a horror comedy film starred with Taapsi and Srinivas Reddy, which is a small budget film, but it has been creating wonders at the box office within the short period.

It is being hailed as a trendsetter in Tollywood. The film is a first of its kind comedy-horror in Telugu cinema, where the ghost is scared of humans. This Taapsee starrer was released on August 18 and went on to become a sleeper hit.

Now, the latest update is that Anando Brahma's satellite rights were bought by the popular Telugu entertainment channel Zee Telugu for cool Rs.3.25 crores.

Anando Brahma is still continuing its steady run at the box-offices in the twin Telugu states and North America.

The film was directed by Mahi V Raghav. The film also stars comedians Vennela Kishore, Srinivas Reddy, Thagubothu Ramesh and Shakalaka Shankar. This comedy-horror was produced by Vijay Chilla and Shashi Devireddy under 70mm Entertainments banner.

200 Indian students marooned in Houston floods

latestnews1947:  Two hundred Indian students of the University of Houston have been marooned in floods in the wake of tropical storm Harvey causing heavy rains and flooding in America's fourth largest city. Two Indian students are in the intensive care unit (ICU) of a hospital, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said on Monday. "@CGHoust has informed me that 200 Indian students at University of Houston are marooned. They are surrounded by neck deep water," Sushma Swaraj tweeted. "We made efforts for delivery of food but US Coast Guard did not allow as boats were required for rescue operations," she said. Stating that Indian Consul General in Houston Anupam Ray was organising the rescue operations, Sushma Swaraj said in a separate tweet: "Indian students Shalini and Nikhil Bhatia are in ICU.
