Dubai bans food items in schools

Dubai, Aug 4: An order was passed recently. In order to improve the nutritional standard of the children, the government has kept vigilance on school canteens. 

The Food Control Department of Dubai Municipality and the Dubai Health Authority has passed strict guidelines to be maintained in the school and canteens.

* All schools must maintain food safety and hygiene and make sure that all food supplied in the canteen is safe.

* The department has issued Nutritional Guidelines for Schools. Under the rules stipulated the following Items are banned in the schools.


# All kinds of soft drinks.

# Energy drinks.

# All types of fruit drinks.

# Milk and yogurt with synthetic flavors.

# All types of chewing gum and candies.

# Bofak ( a special type of Chips).

# Sweets composed of excessive sugar and colorants.

# Plain chocolate.

# Food items containing monosodium glutamate (MSG used a flavor enhancer).

# High-fat food.

# Chips.

Let's hope that this ban improves the health of the children.
